The almost endearing quality of the documentary was the honesty of all participants simply I about appreciated all the new facts surrounding the holocaust that I learned. The trauma acquired past such events is enormous. When will people realize that death effects us for generations and in fact changes the course of the development of civilization/humanity. Without bells and whistles this documentary was highly effective.

The chief character didn't become into depth on her life, perhaps because the memories were too painful. Her sis did provide important, personal information that provided a glimpse into that family's personal life. That bratty ten-year-former child was super annoying; it was quite shocking to run across him dancing on graves in that Viennese cemetery.

At that place are many families that accept a history that traces back to the holocaust, many of which are more interesting than this one. Plus, the story was not put together well, hard to go along runway of who is who back then. And the people in Vienna with whom they speak are clear enough, merely again, hard to pull all the pieces together. I am certain this was cathartic for the film-maker merely not so much for the rest of the states.

I am confused as to why anyone would describe this documentary as "funny." It was touching, gripping and at times heartbreaking but naught was funny. It is a very personal story and I thank the family for sharing it.
The boy is a X year old boy, too young to capeesh this trip. He was not ready emotionally. However, I idea some of the comments by other reviewers were pretty harsh. He'due south a child. I hope he makes a render trip when he is older. I do think that the story must be told and shared down through the generations so that we tin can ensure that it never happens again.

Good story that took us along with them to follow the history of the family. The ten year old male child was OK - I estimate typical of a young boy with no involvement in family unit history and having fun with the filming - just similar most kids today. The ending that listed what happened to the people in the motion-picture show was the nigh fascinating - would have liked more info on why the German man was no longer in the library and why the info is no longer accessible. Truly sad to see what our own people did to our own people.

Its the story of a Jewish family retracing the days of the holocaust past returning to Republic of austria, where they escaped the Nazis through great hardship.
The presentation was ruined past the inclusion of their young teen son/grandson, which the blurb describes as "funny". He is rude and disrespectful and
spoiled rotten. I don't think information technology is tolerable to go romping over grave stones in a Jewish cemetery, existence disrespectful generally to the Austrian people and culture and interim the fool, all the while being filmed doing then. Linda Mills' son could benefit from a visit to Army boot camp! It shows how little sense the parents have in not stopping him. Every bit it progresses, you really wish this kid had been eliminated from the film. So doing might have raised the rating by an extra star. Linda Mill's family deserve more respect considering their experiences and losses, not simply in material goods but through human tragedy. It is
worth seeing once as an historical document. The Holocaust can inappreciably be classed as entertainment.

I'm certain it was very important to this family to travel to Vinenna and research documents regarding their family, but it was hard to follow.
